According to Famitsu, a sequel to the CG film Appleseed is currently in production. The film, titled Appleseed: Ex Machina, will be directed by Shinji Aramaki (Bubblegum Crisis, Megazone 23), and production will be handled by John Woo. The film will be released in Japanese theaters in 2007. The homepage for Sega's Appleseed video game was recently opened. The game will be an action title for the PS2, and is set to hit Japanese retail stores in September. No US release has been announced.

Geneon recently announced that the company has acquired the second season of Kyo Kara Maoh! The series' second season consists of 39 episodes, and is set to begin its release in November.

Japanese studio UFOTABLE announced that the company will be developing an animated adaptation of Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight! No further details have been released.

Gonzo Digimation announced that the company will be creating a theatrical film based on Serge Brussolo's Peggy Sue. The film is expected to hit Japanese theatres in 2008.

Accoring to Anime on DVD, FUNimation announced that the company holds exclusive North American distribution rights for many titles licensed by TOKYOPOP. FUNimation will repackage and reprice TOKYOPOP's titles for a rerelease under the company's own banner. the first title, Street Fury Remixed, will be released on June 27.
