FUNimation has confirmed their acquisition of the North American digital, broadcast, theatrical, DVD, and merchandising rights to Gainax's Shikabane-Hime: Aka. (Corpse Princess: Red) Shikabane-Hime is a 13-episode series that debuted on Japanese television on October 2.

A subtitled version of the first episode was made available for free online viewing via YouTube, Just, Hulu, and Funimation.com as of October 24. Viewers can purchase a digital copy of the show from Funimation.com at $1.99 per episode.

Shibakane-Hime: Aka is the first of two planned 13-episode Shibakane-Hime titles. FUNimation has not announced plans to acquire the upcoming second series.
